Tracy’s Thoughts:

Why it could win: Another brilliant book. I loved these stories, and I don’t normally enjoy short stories. This was one of the best books I read in 2021.

Why it might not win: It’s short stories, and the topics are NSFW.

Rachel’s Thoughts:

Why it could win: An interesting, original and disturbing look at the experience of women in South Korea.

Why it might not win: It may be a short story issue, but this hasn’t stayed with me in the same way the other books have – I’m surprised, as it had a big impact while I was reading it initially.

BookWorm’s Thoughts: 

Why it could win: It ticks several Booker boxes – faecal matter – yes, menstrual matter – yes, uncomfortable descriptions of sex – yes, will repulse lots of readers – yes.

Why it might not win: Short story collection, the judges might decide to be easier on readers who will read the winning book this year. To be fair after the first 2 stories were out the way I did enjoy this collection.
