Booker Shortlist 2021: Great Circle
Will this achieve greatness?
BookWorm:
Why it Could Win: Well it is the longest book on the shortlist. Female centric focus makes it a timely story.
Why it Might Not Win: For me the dual timeline doesn’t work and other reviewers have found the book dull and long winded.
Tracy:
Why it Could Win: To throw off the betting pools.
Why it Might Not Win: Two disjointed stories and three hundred extra pages.
Nicole:
Why it Could Win: The judges obviously saw something I didn’t.
Why it Might Not Win: It’s egregiously bad.
Lisa:
Why it Could Win: The audacity of the female pilot, the war scenes, the scope of the book.
Why it Might Not Win: It’s very long and the interwoven story about the actress does not add much.
