Merry Christmas! I like that Christmas tree.
Our Christmas tradition is that we always have a mini Christmas just the two of us on Christmas Eve before the travelling frenzy kicks in. I cooked from two of my favourite cookbooks this year: Ruby Tandoh’s Crumb and Delia Smith’s Vegetarian Collection and my husband cooked a Yotam Ottolenghi recipe for garlic chilli sprouts that we’d saved from a magazine and then turned out to be in the Ottolenghi cookbook I bought him for Christmas this year.
Our other tradition is to buy each other a book for Christmas. As well as the cookbook, I bought him Charlie Le Duff’s book about Detroit, and he bought me the Mad Men Carousel. Very happy with that. We’re halfway through catching up on Season 6, with Season 7 still to watch, so I’ll need to pace my reading, I think.
I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday!

Happy Christmas! I am so glad to have two weeks off and just be able to soak up books and reading. Happy reading to you, too.
