Tales from the Crypt Challenge: Final Weekly Theme
It’s time for the announcement of our fourth and final weekly theme and the reveal of the random weekly winner. You can read more about it on our challenge page. Are you brave enough to take on the challenge? And the weekly theme is….
Personal Phobias
Halloween falls into this week so we’ve made it our scariest theme yet: personal phobias. There are two steps to this week and we’ll be giving you an extra week to complete this final theme. First, you must disclose a personal fear and then you must pick a book that is focused on that fear. This is supposed to be scary but also fun so if you have a real clinical phobia, don’t pick that one for this challenge. The question is… Are you brave enough?
Now it’s time to pick out your costume (a.k.a. book). What will you be this week? Remember you have to claim your book on the challenge page and either Book Worm or myself has to officially approve that it is not a duplicate because it’s no fun to show up to a party and see someone else dressed in the same costume. Feel free to read any genre (adult, young adult, fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, short stories, novella, etc.) but it must fit the theme.
You will have two weeks to complete this theme. You must read your book and post a brief review (on the challenge page) before monday November 9th, 6am EST to qualify for the weekly draw. On the 9th of November we will randomly pick one winner from among everyone who read a book for this theme.
The Grand Prize winner will be randomly drawn from among everyone who read and posted a review for at least one book during our month long challenge. The Grand Prize will be drawn on Wednesday November 11 at noon Eastern time.
When you are ready to pick your costume, head over to the main challenge page and post a comment with your book title.
If you end up buying a book for this challenge, please do so through our Amazon page. Just click the “powered by Amazon” logo in the top right part of store page and it will take you to the full site where you can search for your book. By doing so, you help us generate even better prizes for our competitions.
Last week quite a few of you selected books and 6 of you completed your book by end of week. Here are some of the books that were read: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Othello, American Psycho, The Body Snatcher, The Woman in White, and more. If you didn’t finish your book in time, you can keep reading and as long as you post your review prior to the end of the month, you’ll qualify for the final prize drawing.
And the winner of the $10 Amazon gift card is Tracy S. Congrats! To claim your prize, send me an email (jenlane3@yahoo.com) so we can coordinate. If you don’t claim your prize by start of next monday, the money will roll over to the winner of the following week. All of you who completed books will be entered into the final grand prize drawing. You can try again this week to enter for the weekly prize with a new book.
So who’s in this week?
Congratulations for our winner! 🙂
