Tales from the Crypt Challenge: 3rd Weekly Theme

Halloween-Pumpkins_2560x1600_1192-11 It’s time for the announcement of our third weekly theme and the reveal of the random weekly winner. You can read more about it on our challenge page. Keep reading to find out what it is and to find out whether you won the $10 Amazon gift card. And the weekly theme is….

Evil Humans

We’ve spent the last two weeks in the realms of the paranormal (e.g. vampires, zombies, ghosts, monsters, & magic). For this week, we are bring it closer to reality. You can go in many different directions here and those of you who don’t want to read horror, should be able to find something for this week.

Now it’s time to pick out your costume (a.k.a. book). Who will you be this week? Remember you have to claim your book on the challenge page and either Book Worm or myself has to officially approve that it is not a duplicate because it’s no fun to show up to a party and see someone else dressed in the same costume. Feel free to read any genre (adult, young adult, fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, short stories, novella, etc.) but it must fit the theme.

You must read your book and post a brief review (on the challenge page) before the following monday at 6am EST to qualify for the weekly draw. At the end of the week we will randomly pick one winner from among everyone who read a book that week. NOTE: For the grand prize, you do not need to finish your book within the week. As long as you finish it before the end of the month, you will be eligible for the grand prize!

When you are ready to pick your costume, head over to the main challenge page and post a comment with your book title.

If you end up buying a book for this challenge, please do so through our Amazon page. Just click the “powered by Amazon” logo in the top right part of store page and it will take you to the full site where you can search for your book. By doing so, you help us generate even better prizes for our competitions.

Last week quite a few of you selected books and 8 of you completed your book by end of week. Here are some of the books that were read: Shadowland by Peter Strauband, Mister B. Gone by Clive Barker, Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, Much Ado About Magic by Shanna Swendson, Locke & Key, Vol. 2: Head Games by Joe Hill, and more.  If you didn’t finish your book in time, you can keep reading and as long as you post your review prior to the end of the month, you’ll qualify for the final prize drawing.

And the winner of the $10 Amazon gift card is Mrs. Hicks. Congrats! To claim your prize, send me an email (jenlane3@yahoo.com) so we can coordinate. If you don’t claim your prize by start of next monday, the money will roll over to the winner of the following week. All of you who completed books will be entered into the final grand prize drawing. You can try again this week to enter for the weekly prize with a new book.

So who’s in this week?

Next week is my favorite theme. Only the brave will succeed next week. I hope you all join in our final week too! Next week we will have the $10 weekly drawing and a few days later we will announce the winner of the grand prize – all who have read at least one book will qualify for this drawing.
