And The Winner Is….

Tomb of Sand

Huge congratulations to this years Booker International winner the hugely amusing Tomb of Sand by Geetanjali Shree translated by Daisy Rockwell.

I am glad a fun book won this year even though none of the panel correctly predicted this.

What do you think are you pleased with the winner?

Yes! I enjoy Indian novels and what a triumph, first Hindi novel to win international acclaim. But I am so frustrated, its not available in South Africa, and our postal system is so bad, ordering it from overseas won’t work.

Oh no that is a real shame if you didn’t have a problem with the postal system I would offer to send you my copy as I am not a re-reader and I had to buy a physical copy

Thanks for the kind thought! Fortunately for me, a generous friend will be visiting CT in October, so I plan on asking her to bring me a copy. Fingers crossed!
