What would you do for a good nights sleep?
This ARC was provided by HQ (via NetGalley) in exchange for an honest review.
Synopsis from Goodreads: Thea is an insomniac; she hasn’t slept more than three hours a night for years.
So when an ad for a sleep trial that promises to change her life pops up on her phone, Thea knows this is her last chance at finding any kind of normal life.
Soon Thea’s sleeping for longer than she has in a decade, and awakes feeling transformed. So much so that at first she’s willing to overlook the oddities of the trial – the lack of any phone signal; the way she can’t leave her bedroom without permission; the fact that all her personal possessions are locked away, even her shoes.
But it soon becomes clear that the trial doesn’t just want to help Thea sleep. It wants to control her sleep…
My Thoughts: I am not an insomniac but I do suffer from sleep disruption largely due to a snoring husband (I know I am not alone with this) so a book about getting better sleep appealed to me.
I enjoyed the pacing of the book but I feel it struggled to decide what it wanted to be. Was it a book exploring the science of sleep and how to use this for good/evil or was it a horror story about victims trapped on an island? As you may have guessed it is a marriage of both.
There is not a lot I can say without spoilers so I will just say if you can suspend disbelief and need some fast paced escapism that doesn’t always make sense go for it. If you need your fiction to be plausible give this a miss.
We want to hear from you! Have you read this book? What did you think?
I’m intrigued and lately have been going for escapism in my reading. I might give this a try. I’m usually good with willingly suspending disbelief (except for the Outlander series; couldn’t do it for that).

I will. It may be a while. My TBR list is very, very long.
