2017 March Madness Reading Challenge
We had such a good time last year with our March Madness challenge that we are hosting it again this year. We hope you join in. If you want to join, send in your book nomination by March 5th. Here’s how it will work…
Step 1. Nominate 1 TBR book that was published in the last two years from Jan 2015 – February 2017. Email you nominations to thereadersroomblog[at]gmail.com. People will be rating each book so choose wisely. Nominations are due by March 5th (noon EST).
Step 2. Voting March 6-10. We will post a link to voting form and readers will be able to rate all nominated books. The top 64 books will be entered into the brackets and each book will be paired with a college basketball team.
Step 3. We will post the book bracket on the blog on March 12
Step 4. Submit your picks. As soon as we post the brackets, participating readers will have 2 days to submit their brackets to me (instructions on how to do this will be posted on March 12). Basically, you will be making predictions on which teams (a.k.a. books) will win each round.
Step 5. Reading period: March 14 – April 30. Once you have submitted your bracket you may start reading the books you nominated to win matches. The goal is to try and read for as many points as possible. Points will be awarded to books based on how well their matched basketball team performs.
We will be awarding two prizes: A grand prize and a prize for the person who nominated the winning book.
Confused? We will be posting detailed instructions for each step of the process. Also, check out the challenge page. Any questions?
Book title sent- hopefully shaving some more off of the TBR!

It is much more confusing when you ha e no idea what March Madness is 😂 but it will be the same as last time with str by step instructions. So for now all I need is a book nomination. TBR published in last two years

I enjoyed this last year, despite not having a clue what was going on. I need to concentrate on whittling my TBR down, though, so don’t know how well I’ll do this year. I’ll send a nomination and hope for the best!

I’ll try again this year. Hopefully, unlike last year, my overall winner won’t get knocked out in the first round. Does the book have to be one that we’ve read?

No, it should be a book you haven’t read (assuming you don’t want to reread it for the challenge).

I thought that would be the case, but decided to check. I’ve emailed a book .

I’m not really sure what you’re looking for. Your blog seems empty – no posts and doesn’t seem related to anything we have posted for this post. We don’t let people promote their own blogs here unless there’s a clear reason or you want to refer our readers to a book review you have posted. I’m going to go ahead and delete your comment unless there is something specific you want from us.

then why are you posting comments on my blog telling me to visit your blog? I have no idea who you are or what you are asking me to do. I’m happy to support other blogs but I’m confused about why you are reaching out on our reading challenge page.
